The latest Met police recruiting is going well

Thursday, 15th August 2019

• I WRITE in relation to the Comment piece in the Camden New Journal of August 8, which included the line: “The Met has been struggling to attract new recruits for years…” On the contrary, our latest recruitment campaign has seen a really positive response from the public.

With 15,000 applications currently in the pipeline for police officer roles, and an average of 3,000 new applications coming in each month, we are confident we will have 31,000 officers in the Met by the end of the year and in light of the recent announcement on officer growth we are working to do this more quickly.

Over the last 12 months we’ve recruited more than 2,000 new officers to the Met. And over the next 12 months, we want to recruit at least at further 3,000 new officers.

Policing is not an easy job but it is hugely rewarding, packed with new and interesting experiences every day alongside the knowledge you are making a difference and playing your part in making London a safer place.

We’re still recruiting, find out more here: www.met.police.uk/car/met/careers/
